SAY NO THE THE FTAA!
The Free Trade Area of the Americas is being present as no big deal for workers.

In Trinidad and Tobago the only question being posed is "are we ready for the FTAA?"

A more important question is "Do we want the FTAA?"

This page give details of the FTAA, what it is, why it is a threat and what you can do about it.

This will be an ever expanding page of information - so check regularly for updates.

Useful information
A good starting point is a document produced by Global Exchange called Ten Reasons to Oppose FTAA

Much of the regional opposition has been organised by the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (the Cuban Trade Union Centre) who have been behind a series of Hemispheric Conferences held in Havana in 2001, 2002 and 2004. Each of these Conference issued statements which are an interesting starting point for action. These can be found at:

2001 Havana Conference
2002 Havane Conference
2004 Havana Conference
