"OUR
GREATEST ASSET IS OUR PEOPLE"
If you ever believed this sort of
propoganda from the lips of the employer think again.
A. Norman Sabga’s Chairman’s
Report for 2002 says:
"As a caring employer and
important member of the communities in which we operate regionally, we have
recognised the need to enhance our human resource plans. This involves
reevaluating performance objectives, core competencies, succession planning and
rewarding performance."
Now ask yourself this question as
you sit outside the gates of the Carib compound - locked-out by your caring
employer. Do you feel valued? Do you feel wanted?
REWARDING
EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE
"We have undertaken a number
of initiatives aimed at improving the way we reward exceptional
performance" says the boss.
Don’t get confused. He’s not
talking about you. You can still work hard - but only expect an insulting 12%.
The people that really getting
the money are ... wait for it ... the bosses!!
"In respect of rewarding
performance, we have launched a new incentive programme for senior management
and excutives ..." says the man.
What is locking-out nearly 900
workers worth in incentive pay? And who is going to get this?
